Skills

Core Expertise

As a specialist working within the humanist approach to living with a dementia, I use a person-centred and relationship-centred ethos to engage and empower people. I also acknowledge the value of all relationships surrounding a person with a dementia recognizing that relationships are a core part of a person's identity.

So, by knowing a person's life history, their values, opinions and preferences, I weave these into activities and projects. These could include engaging in a cherished hobby, such as gardening, working on your family tree, finding out more about your surroundings, such as Rutland Water, or building a bug hotel for your garden.

As well as offering these bespoke one-to-one sessions with clients, I also use the same principles in my dementia awareness training, business workshops and retail and consumer sector audits.
